Falcon's Nest Yosemite Vacation Home for Rent |

Our beautiful Yosemite vacation home, The Falcon's Nest is on a quiet wooded hillside with amazing sunset views. From the deck you can see for miles. We are located in Yosemite West which is located inside the gates of Yosemite. When you stay with us you will be right in the heart of Yosemite National Park, but away from the crowds. We have lived in Yosemite for decades and can share with you how to best enjoy Yosemite, avoiding the crowds, and seeing the hidden spots most tourists never find. Every season brings a unique experience in viewing the changing landscape.

While most visitors come in late Spring and Summer, many have learned that Autumn and Winter are even more spectacular. Unlike most of California, we have Fall color that rivals anything in Maine or New York.

Winters are simply paradise. We have lots of snow but daytime temperatures are usually above freezing. We are only 6 miles from Badger Pass Ski Resort or you can cross country ski right outside our door. For photographers, Yosemite Valley is the ultimate experience in changing light and pattern. Let us help you plan the perfect vacation.
Don and Kay Pitts, owners of the Falcon's Nest and Yosemite Peregrine Lodging. Melissa and Dezmond Dehl: Managers

The great room is wheel chair accessible and has beautiful furnishings and original art. Kitchen is fully equipped, all linens are provided, and there is a gas grill on the deck. The TV/DVD has satellite reception and there are lots of videos for all ages. You'll particularly enjoy the special Yosemite videos. We also have variety of games, books and magazines.

The mural of Yosemite Valley that adorns the carport wall, the art gallery in the entry area and, best of all, the colorful rooms with soaring ceilings and wonderful views all tell you that this 1,700 sq. foot home was designed to be pleasing to eye and good for the soul. Enjoy the sunset view from the deck as you prepare your meal on the gas barbecue in your own fully equipped, private kitchen. And later, enjoy the stars: no street lights and no street noise here. It is, quite simply, the best of all possible worlds: luxury living surrounded by wilderness.

This is the master bedroom with a queen bed, full private bath and an extra basin in the bedroom. There are several original paintings in this room.

The deck looks to the sunset and a view of an animal trail that crosses through the yard. Watch for deer, bears and coyotes (from your safe height).

The second bedroom has a king bed which can be made into twin beds. This and the master bedroom both open off the great room which you see on the right. Above the bed is an original batik by owner, Kay Pitts. This room also has a private bath (shower, no tub).

Bedroom three is also called the Panorama Room. It is across a hall from the 2 bedroom complex. If it is not rented as part of the vacation home it is rented as a bed and breakfast room. It has a full, private bath, clerestory windows, deck, queen bed and a long twin bed, satellite TV/DVD and is wheel chair accessible. If you need more space you can rent one or two bedrooms downstairs. The Alpenglow Room sleeps three people and our guest lounge area can be converted to a bedroom which also sleeps three people. Guests enjoy our satellite TV, computer for guest use, and wireless for those with a laptop.

Driving Routes to Falcon's Nest Vacation Rental Home
|
Both the Condominiums and the Falcon's Nest are located within a private development called Yosemite West, which is inside the Yosemite National Park boundary. To reach Yosemite West, you must enter the gates of Yosemite.
The Condominiums and the Falcon's Nest are quite close to one another; traveling directions to either location are identical except for the very end.
The Yosemite West turn-off in on Hwy. 41, about 1/4 mile south of the Chinquapin turn-off to Glacier Point/Badger Pass.
Because of our elevation (6200 ft or 2000m), it's a good idea to double check local weather and road conditions before traveling. Tire chains can be required (4x4 included) any time from Oct.-April.
